"Midnight Sun" The third recording featuring Surf Cove Jazz artists Leslie Lewis & Gerard Hagen will be released on Sept. 11th, 2011. The recording features nine tracks and includes guest artists Joey Sellers, trombone and Chuck Manning playing tenor saxophone. Tracks from the recording will be performed at Kobe Steak House in concert on Sept. 11th, 2011 at 6:00 PM. Leslie, Gerard, Domenic & Jerry will be joined by Joey Sellers and Doug Walter for this performance.
04.27.11 | Leslie Lewis & Gerard Hagen set to record their third CD!
Leslie Lewis is preparing, along with Gerard Hagen, to record a third CD tentatively titled "Midnight Sun". The recording will feature Leslie with the Gerard Hagen Trio (Domenic Genova, Bass and Jerry Kalaf drums). Tenor saxophonist Chuck Manning and trombonist, Joey Sellers will be joining the group as guest artists. A fall release is planned.

Leslie Lewis & the Gerard Hagen Trio will be joined by saxophonist Chuck Manning and trombonist Joey Sellers for a performance on Sunday May 8th at 6:00 PM at Kobe Steak House in Seal Beach. Chuck and Joey will join Leslie and the trio for a concert at Casa Romatica in San Clemente on May, 22nd at 7PM.

"Keeper of the Flame" the second recording by Leslie Lewis on Surf Cove Jazz Productions has debuted at #15 on the College Music Journal (CMJ). CMJ tracks radio airplay for over 200 NPR stations across the country. Leslie is in good company with recordings by Danilo Perez, Cassandra Wilson and Miles Davis also tracking this week.

Leslie Lewis & Gerard Hagen will be joined by bassist Larry Ridley and drummer Terry Silverlight in concert for the Lehman College Jazz Festival at Lovinger Theatre on the campus of Lehman College, Bronx N.Y. The concert will be on Thursday, November 18th at 7:30 PM and is be open to the public with no admission charge. Leslie and Gerard will work with the jazz students Wednesday (11/17) & Thursday (11/18) during the day.

Keeper Of The Flame
The musical starmakers at Surf Cove Jazz are putting out a warning: Make way for the next big thing! Leslie Lewis has a hot one on her hands with "Keeper Of The Flame." A bona fide sure thing for jazz radio success, the album is packed with tracks destined for cooler iPods nationwide.
Working with The Gerard Hagen Trio, Lewis' voice is the foundation for a collection of songs meant to whisk the worries of the world away. It will have been a while since music seemed to be just what you were hoping for, and that's where I was at with "Keeper."
Of the tracks to select from, "Day by Day" stand out for me. If I were choosing a first single, this one would top the list. Perfect for a beachfront sunset.
Let Leslie Lewis make your night tonight with the songs from "Keeper Of The Flame." Leave the hard calls for another time.

LESLIE LEWIS/Keeper of the Flame: Sometimes it’s that little thing you see out of the corner of your eye when your ripping the mail open that will move a particular cd by an artist you don’t know to the top of the pile. In the case of jazz vocalist Lewis, she worked with the late John Bunch and had her last album issued in Japan by the Sinatra Society. There were some other interesting old school credits as well, but those were the ones that grabbed us. The set card veers from the standard diva dip in the classic songbook, often veering to the left, and she will not disappoint if you’ve never heard her before. A sweet throwback to the 50s thrush, Lewis is spot on throughout, merging Brazil with jazz into a delightfully supper club tasting brew. Just the thing for when you’re feeling like a grown up. Hot stuff.

"Keeper Of The Flame" the second recording by Leslie Lewis & the Gerard Hagen Trio will be released in August 2010. The Surf Cove Jazz Productions recording features Brazilian flavored jazz music as well as the artistry of Gary Foster playing Flute and saxophone. Premier performances are being planned in Los Angeles and Orange County. The recording will be available at Leslie's live performances and on iTunes, CDBaby, Amazon, and many other online venues.

Surf Cove Jazz recording artist Leslie Lewis begins a 6 month stay at the Resort at Pelican Hill in the Great Room. She will be working every Thursday from 6:30-10:30 PM with Surf Cove Jazz founder, pianist Gerard Hagen and on Friday and Saturday from 7:30-11:30 PM with pianist Ron Levy and bassist Anders Swanson. The Great Room features a wonderful Steinway "B" grand piano and beautiful views of the ocean as well as fantastic food & drink.
